All the services offered aim at reaching these objectives.
The Medical Department is divided into four main services:
- Ongoing medical assistance for the diagnosis and treatment of Opportunistic Infections (including Paediatric Clinics).
- Integrated TB/HIV and AIDS program.
- ART program.
- PMTCT program.
Ongoing medical assistance: registered clients can access this service at any time. The service is supported by a well-equipped laboratory and pharmacy. Clinical counselling and psychosocial support are integrated elements of medical assistance. A two way referral system is in place with Temeke District Hospital, Muhimbili National Hospital, Hindu Mandhal Private Hospital and Ocean Road Cancer Hospital for those clients who need to be admitted.
The service also includes three paediatric clinics per month for HIV+ children and two specialist clinics for clients also suffering from diabetes and hypertension.
Close collaboration between the medical services and PASADA’s HBC, OVC and Counselling services guarantees that clients’ needs are met and responded to at all levels.
